‘Far Away’

This is a small framed 3D piece.
It shows an old man in in a vast landscape with a slightly forbidding sky (made from stained glass).
The hills made with foam board and the barren trees from found twigs.
The little old man is a miniature model, meticulously painted by myself.
It is only now that I write this description that I realise it could have been inspired by the powerful film 'The Field' starring the late great Richard Harris. It was filmed in Galway and Mayo, where my Mother was born. I haven't watched that film for many years but perhaps my ancestors were in my subconscious as I made it?
